1. What is Form IV Rule 17?

This form is related to the refreshment rooms or canteens. As per rule 17 of the Motor Transport Workers Rule, every employer shall provide for the use of the motor transport workers at every place wherein one hundred motor transport workers or more ordinarily call on duty during every day, an adequate canteen in or near the place wherein the undertaking is situated according to the standards prescribed in rule 17.

2. Why is it Important?

This form is important because it is related to the health and welfare of the workers working in the establishment and form IV maintains the records of canteen infrastructure maintenance ( painting, repairing, woodwork, limewash ) etc. It is the duty of every employer of the establishment to follow the rules prescribed in Rule 17 of the Motor Transport workers rules.
