1. What is Form INC - 24?

Form INC - 24 is related to a change in name of the company as pursuant to section 13(2) of the Companies Act, 2013 and Rule 29(2) of the Companies Incorporation Rules, 2014. This Application is made to the Central Government for approval for change in the company’s name, As per section 13 of the company Act 2013, the company may change its name by passing a resolution in its general meeting. But approval from the Central government & updating with ROC is necessary for changing the name.

2. Why is it Important?

It is important while changing the name of the company. After filling the MGT-14, the company has to file INC 24 e-form within 30 days with the registrar of the companies. One might require to change its company name under the circumstances such as Current company name cant be copyright, change of ownership, location or expansion of the company and it also requires a significant alteration in MOA & AOA.
