1. What exactly is a lodger’s agreement ?
A Lodger Agreement is a contract that allows a person to rent a portion of a house. The license allows someone (the "lodger" or "licensee") to rent out a room in a property where someone else (the "licensor") lives for a fee. It's the preferable option for parties that want to rent out a portion of a shared property but don't want to take on the official duties that come with being a landlord and tenant.
2. Why it is Important ?
A Lodger Agreement will spell out the terms on which the license will be issued, as well as the responsibilities that each party will bear. This will contain what the lodger must do and not do during the license's duration. It will also detail the licensors' responsibilities and rights under the contract.
